Though you’d never know he wasn’t born dancing, Ballroom Dance Clubs of Atlanta instructor Pierre Bush took up ballroom dance at the ripe old age of 24! Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Pierre’s family moved around quite a bit as a child, and he considers himself an “Army Brat.” While his location varied, his love for music didn’t. In fact, that’s what led him to pursue ballroom dance!
Formally trained in Atlanta from 2004 to 2009, Bush may have come to ballroom dance later in the game than most performers, but you can’t tell he hasn’t been at it his whole life. He’s taken home multiple awards including two first place championships in the 2011 Empire State DanceSport Competition in the smooth and rhythm categories.
In his spare time, Bush loves to attend concerts and festivals and enjoys being outdoors. According to Pierre, if there’s music involved, he’s there! Besides all the great music involved in ballroom dancing, Bush’s favorite part of being an instructor at Ballroom Dance Clubs of Atlanta is formulating different teaching methods to make certain each student understands the dance and has fun while learning. In his own words, Pierre wants to make learning to dance as “easy as possible so our students progress to the point where they, too, glide and sway.”
Pierre Bush hopes that ballroom dance will allow him to continue to grow and improve as both a dancer and an instructor, and that his students can find similar growth through dancing.
